Sunset on a quiet beach
a quiet beach, the coast
The plan was short: a beach, the two of them, and the hour before sunset. No guests, no schedule, and a flask for afterwards.
Elopements are mostly about waiting. The light changes every few minutes, so I picked one spot, stayed in it and let the couple come to me.

We started with a slow dance. They had no music, so they hummed, which gave me a natural smile and a bit of movement in her hair.

When the sun dropped
The sun sat low enough to put a flare across the frame. I stopped fighting it and moved so it landed between them instead of on one of them.
They were back at the car before the light was gone. We looked through the back of the camera together and agreed on which frames to keep.
