A garden wedding in the afternoon
a garden with a fountain, a park fountain
The day was slow on purpose. They arrived in a white car, walked through a garden of tall pines and lavender, and stopped wherever the light was good.
I stayed within a few steps of them all afternoon and kept the camera low. In a garden the light changes with every few paces.

The garden
A fountain with a bed of red flowers, a path lined with lavender, and a lawn under tall pines. The couple took each of them as a pause, and I took the pictures between the pauses.

The bride carried a small bouquet of white flowers all day. In close frames it gave her something to look at and her hands something to hold.

Evening
The reception ran into the dark, so I took a few frames of the rings and ended the day on the dance floor with the lights on.
I sent the gallery nine days later, with a short note on which frames I would print first. The garden ones were always at the top.
