A bride's morning above the rooftops

The room was at the top of a building with a glass walkway on one side and a view of the town on the other. The light there is best early in the day.

I arrived before the hair and makeup and stayed until she was dressed. Most of the frames are details, because a good morning is made of them.

Before the dress

A view over the roofs and a robe on the walkway, then makeup. The brush, a little powder, and the profile that goes with it.

Small things

A bottle of perfume held against lace, a silver cross and two rings on a bed of tulle, a gold-framed mirror with a tall plant beside it.

The dress

The dress hung on the walkway until she was ready, with the town behind it. I took it once on the rail and once on its hanger indoors.

She put the dress on at eleven, and I stopped photographing the room. The last frame of the morning is the lace shoulders on their hanger.
